Get the knack of something

Get the hang of it, Get the knack of it!

  인터넷 서핑중에 아는 단어들의 조합임에도 도무지 해석이 불가한 Idiom(?)을 발견했는데 직관적으로는 대채 무슨뜻인지 당췌 알 수가 없다. 또 잊어먹기전에 정리를 해두자. Collins Dictionary에 English for learner로 검색을 하면 아래와 같다.

1. (informal) If you get the hang of something such as a skill or activity, you begin to understand or realize how to do it. ■ EG:    ⇒ It's a bit tricky at first till you get the hang of it.

로 정의 되어 있는데, 뜻은 알겠고 감은 알겠지만, 한국말로 어떻게 옮기면 될지..근데 요즘 드는 생각은 영어는 영어로 익히는게 맞는것 같다. 이럴땐 예제를 몇개 연습삼아 만들어 익히는게 더 유용할 거 같다.

Get the knack of it과 동일한 뜻이라는데 knack의 경우 

1. A knack is a particularly clever or skillful way of doing something successfully, especially something which most people find difficult. ■ EG:    ⇒ He's got the knack of getting people to listen.

로 정리되어 있다. Gift랑 비슷한 어감인거 같다. knack의 경우 직관 적인 해석이 가능한듯 하다.
